If you're a cat lover, you're gonna love this, I promise. A few days ago on 30th October (Sunday), I'm glad to be a part of Sarah Thursday's beautiful solo exhibition at Neko No Niwa Cat Cafe. I've been dying to visit Neko No Niwa for the longest time! And when one of my favourite local artist announced that she will be having her very first solo exhibition at Neko No Niwa cafe, how could I miss this golden opportunity to experience the perfect blend of cats and art? Neko No Niwa CafeNeko No Niwa, for those of you who don't know, is the very first cat cafe in Singapore located at Boat Quay. They are also home to 13 rescued cats that were once abandoned, how nice :') Since this is my first time visiting a cat cafe, I figured why not write a review on my first cat cafe experience here as well. Neko No Niwa is not your ordinary cafe if you're wondering, if you're expecting tables and chairs lined up everywhere then, this cafe might just amaze you. When I first arrived the cafe, I was told to remove my shoes and wash my hands for hygiene purposes. The cafe charges $12 per hour (of cat cuddling) and $5 for the subsequent 30 mins for each person. During your time there, you are only allowed to order some drinks and desserts to chill with the cats, so don't expect to have a filling meal there. Once you've paid at the counter, the staff will personally explain to you some house rules before handling you the receipt indicating your clocked-in time, as well as a sheet of paper with all the cat's name and little descriptions of their knitty personalities. I was thrilled to see cats roaming everywhere once I stepped into the cats corner because firstly, I've never been in such close contact with cats before although I really love them (but I'm allergic to cat fur), and secondly, they are all so damn cute and fluffy??? Cats are known to be a nocturnal animal, so when I'm over at the cafe, most of them are curled up and sound asleep, while some really enjoys being the limelight, posing and snuggling in front of so many cameras. :') I would suggest visiting the cafe around evening to late evening so the cats would be a little more active when you're around. - The interior of the cafe - Overall it was a great experience for a first time at a cat cafe, I truly enjoyed my precious 1 hour there stroking cats and making some fellow cat-lover friends. It's a really chill environment and a great way to de-stress with some cat therapy if you needed some :> If you happen to be a fellow feline lover, go get some friends and cafe hop to this one of a kind cafe to spend your day with cats over coffee and dessert. Not to mention it's the perfect spot for photos too (; You can visit HERE to find out more about Neko No Niwa >>> Sarah Thursday's Solo Exhibition - The Nocturnal ProjectNow moving on to the main subject, Sarah Thursday's first ever solo exhibition. Man this girl, has been inspiring me every time I visit her website or scroll through one of her random art works on Instagram. I found out about her brand from a friend about a year ago and I've been such a loyal supporter ever since because her works are so special me, her hardwork and success is what inspires me to draw again really. Seeing how much Sarah Thursday has grown over the year makes me so happy and so proud and SO HOPEFUL of Singapore's Art industry :') It's only on that day that I realized that she is also such a friendly bean, making the effort to talk to almost everyone who came down and gave their support to the exhibition. It's just really nice to see an artist being so good at the things she does and yet so humble at the same time.
Although her exhibition is over, you can still find out more about this talented girl and her works at Sarah Thursday and appreciate the stuff she did, you won't regret. She ships her merchandise worldwide too so don't worry if you're not from Singapore, you can still have a piece of her wherever you are ;) Well that's all I've got for you guys for now! Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day ahead my happy beans~ Till next time - ;)
