A Note To Younger Self.

If I were given 1 chance, just 1 chance, to time travel back to any age that I've been, where will I go, and what would I advise my younger self.

If I were given a chance to travel back to my younger self, I would most definitely go back to the 13 year old me. That was when I first started secondary school/high school, and that was such an important period of time for me, little did my 13 year old self know that those experiences in high school had played such an important part in shaping who I am today.

If I were to time travel back to my 13 year old self, I would tell her
   1. Grades aren't everything
I know everyone around you is brainwashing you that you need a good grade to enter a good college and get your desired course and diploma and eventually get a good job that pays well and all those bullcrap. Grades really aren't everything, that math test that you failed isn't going to make you homeless and definitely not a failure, so don't cry over stuff like that. Just do your best and you'll do fine.

    2. Stop comparing yourself to other people
Everyone is different, and everyone is special. You know it deep down, so stop comparing yourself to that pretty girl from another class that has like 500 followers on instagram while you only have 100. Stop comparing yourself to your cousin that always does well academically while you always struggle through your exams. Stop comparing yourself to other girls that draws better and dance better than you. I know you're a competitive person, spoiler alert you still are today, but no matter what there's always someone better than you in everything, you'll be living miserably if you continue comparing. Instead, let their achievements motivate you to be better.

Ps. you don't always have to be the best in everything.

     3. You are beautiful
Your body is beautiful, you don't have to skip dinner or eat only an energy bar to last you the entire day just because someone in school called you chubby. Beauty is skin deep, so don't compare yourself to other skinny girls on Instagram and drown yourself with mean criticism on your body to sleep. Stop killing your self-esteem and believe, just for once, that you're beautiful just the way you are. It is the words you say and the actions you do that defines your beauty, so stop being so hard on yourself.

     4. Not everyone is worthy to have all of you
I mean, friends are great. I know you really cherished that friendship of yours, and believed that your friendship would last a lifetime, but not everyone is going to appreciate you and your efforts. People are going to take and take and take everything from you, leaving you with nothing. People are going to make use of you. People are going to treat you like their fourth or fifth option while you treat them as your first. So open your eyes and protect yourself, but don't regret your time with them, they have all impacted your life no matter what they do.

      5. Love is not all sugar and honey
You are going to get into your first relationship and learn that being in a relationship is not just gifts and sweet instagram posts. You will learn what is commitments and priorities, you might even lose some friends while in the process of learning that. And never let him make all the decisions for you, you have your own rights to say no when he makes you do something you don't like. Overtime, the both of you will learn to resolve arguments with talks instead of showing attitude and making things worse. There will be a lot of hard times together, but it's those hard times that makes you learn and grow as a person, so don't worry and have fun. :)

     5. You will learn the difference between alone and lonely
These feelings are inevitable, in fact it's about to get worse as you grow older, so take it easy. You will learn new things about yourself and slowly appreciate those lonely times when you get older. You just need to get through this phase and things will be better, promise.

And lastly,

     6. Spend some time with your family.
They will be the one comforting you as you cry about that broken friendship and encouraging you to do better when you received a fail grade. They are the one who truly sees your beauty inside out and is proud of who you are. Don't neglect them because of your friends, spend some quality time together on weekends, they would really love it.

The future might seem scary, but everything is going to be alright. Just keep doing you, because you do you best.

Yup that's pretty much all, thank you for taking time to read this lengthy post. Hopefully some points here might be helpful to you somehow in some way. (:

Till next time pumps -
